Gold is always on my watch list and all I had to do was wait for a good PASR (price action at support and resistance) to occur. The green SR lines were on my chart just waiting for a decent entry. What a beautiful looking chart. Look at the second image with candles removed and just the line chart and 4 moving averages. I am even considering just trading the line charts with no bars or candles.

This mornings cheeky little trade was eur/gbp using the 15 minute chart for the trend entry. A quick 30 pips to first resistance.

The only live trade I am in now is a EUR/CAD long from 1.3780 stoploss 1.3765 target 1.440

Update closed half at 1.3410, moved stop to break even but it doesn’t look supported by buyers now.

I searched all my charts on the 5  minute timeframe and could only find one possible setup using my bunched moving averages strategy. It was the euro gbp currency pair, the setup was for a possible long trade on the 5 min chart , it didn’t look quite right but I took it anyway because the stoploss was so tiny, just 5 pips away, I closed 75% for a 10 pip profit, the rest got stopped out, but overall a small profit, the risk was worth it.

As mentioned yesterday euro gbp often goes the opposite way to cable so I was well aware that if eur/gbp turned and went south then usd/gbp may well go north. That was where  I bagged most of my pips this morning.

Dan Armitages daily forex roundup in todays www.fx500club.com live trading room said we would need to be patient, with a possible short entry from a breakout trade on cable through the old low of 1.6059 as I was already in eur/gbp long and was half expecting it to turn and go south I didn’t take the cable breakout short.  Instead I waited to see what euro gbp did and then took cable long when it showed signs of hitting support and reversing to go long.

The red X marks the low that Dan in the www.fx500club.com Live Trading Room had said we could trade the breakout through with a tight 10 pip stoploss.  As you can see from the upwards facing red arrow it broke down through 1.6059 then hit suport at 1.6044 I took a chance and went long at 1.6055 with a tiny stop below 1.6044 aiming for 1.6110, it worked.

So what have I learned that’s new? Well for me it has become more obvious that the Frankfurt Financial Market boys get in a little earlier than the London Financial Markets open and it seems the Frankfurt boys move the markets one way only to be reversed by the London Traders. I am seeing this more and more often. So today I had a little go at trading purely technical setups using the bunched moving averages strategy ( the fx500club, 123 setup ) . Have a look at the GBP JPY trade I took this morning before the London markets opened.

I am liking these setups alot because they are generally very quick, taken off the 5 minute charts, the stop losses generally very small and the profit targets good eneough to make the reward risk very acceptable, more often that not 2 or 3 to 1, risk 15 pips to make 30 or 40. These type of trades happen fast so if they go against you you are generally out within a few candles.

This is just a variation on many of the trading strategies taught to us in the www.fx500club.com and www.fxmonkeyschool.com.

So for todays trade the first thing I wait for is the  5 minute 20 ema to cross the 5 minute 50 sma (the pale blue arrow is an alert I have setup), then I wait for the moving averages to become bunched up / close together. I then wait for the price to break through all the moving averages and begin to use them as support. Then it is just a question of using the cci indicators to get the best entry.

I entered the trade long at 157.17, my stoploss at 157.00 the previous low and old resistance became new support, my target was an old high 157.61, gj always moves quite aggressively so I try to lock in half profit at 20 or so pips and let the rest run to target.

The chart below shows how the price reversed once the London markets opened. Notice the pink downwards arrow is alerting me to the 20 ema ( exponential moving average ) crossing the 50 sma ( simple moving average ) Normally a good sign to take a short trade once the mas all bunch up again but not today as we have the weekley pivot ( wp) , directly below us.

 This is just another way of trading old resistance becomes new support or vice versa for short trades, but using the moving averages as added confirmation of the price action.

See also my chart below, see how similar the AUD/JPY trade setup was this morning, I took this from my alert as well. There were alot more setups like this this morning and they all would have made nice safe profits and all before 7.30 am, not a bad days work, in at 6am finished by 7.30.

Yesterday morning was a slow start with no clear setups but once the US markets opened the direction became clearer, I took USD / CAD long and usd/ jpy long, both very clear setups using the 15 minute charts , both worth over 100 pips each. Both taken using the www.fx500club.com live online trading school system / strategy.

Put simply the www.fx500club.com strategy is to use moving averages pivot points and price action to identify levels of support and resistance, we then use cci indicators and also price action on the lower time frames to get very precise entry points. Profit target are also determined by previous levels of support and resistance, old highs, pivots, round numbers etc.

My entry for the e/j trade shown in the chart above was 135.17 putting my stoploss below the daily pivot at 134.85,  my first target being the previous high 135.73, I took the trade before the setup was 100 % perfect but the euro was looking strong against the other currencies and the stop was quite small, it represented a good reward risk ratio. When I woke up this morning I had hit my first target so closed half the trade anticipating a retracement, I got it and added back on at 135.60, if all goes well I will keep doing this, taking profits at the highs and adding to the trade on the dips.

The perfect setup came at just after midnight. I have saved the 5 minute chart below to show you the correct entry, notice that all the moving averages are below the price, along with the monthly and daily pivots, they are all acting as support under the price with clear space above, nothing to stop the price going up, lovely.

It was all pretty straight forward, Zak had used the us dollar index chart to identify that the dollar was looking a bit weak, it was then just a case of making our trades using our own risk profiles.

I took my short trade early pre empting the break down, this allowed me to have a very tight stop loss, riskier but the added profit potential was woth it for me. The price had tested and failed to close above the daily pivot so I managed to get in at 1.0815 with my stoploss just 15 pips away at 1.0830 first target at 1.0779 34 pips away, close half there and let the last half run targeting 1.0768 close another 25% and let the last 25% run after moving my stop loss down to 1.0810 for a free trade.
